MEET CHANTEL

New Leadership Delivering Results for Our Community

I have lived in San Anselmo for 10 years.  I am a small business owner, an active and dedicated community volunteer, and an experienced policy and administrative organizational leader.  I have learned to listen to lead, solve problems, and build relationships that cultivate community connection,  strong organizations, innovation, and excellence. I have over  25 years of experience in government, philanthropic, and nonprofit sectors.  My work experience includes being a program officer, library leader, human resources leader, and nonprofit executive.  I facilitate conversations that help problem-solve and guide action in challenging situations. I am excited and inspired to run for a seat on our Town Council.

My positive attitude, creative energy, and tenacity are assets that produce results and catalyze relationships. I have a track record of fostering collaboration to support community conversations across multiple perspectives on topics central to San Anselmo’s success.  I am the President of the Marin Forum, Vice President of Wednesday Morning Dialogue, and a member of the Board of Directors of the Marin County Library Foundation and Marin Environmental Housing Coalition. I am a founding Board Member of the Marin Promise Partnership and the Women’s Committee Revitalization Project. I am the past Chair of the San Francisco Redevelopment Agency, Children’s Creativity Museum, and Women’s Foundation of California. I am a past member of the State Bar of California Board of Governors, and Association of Black Foundation Executives. My work and volunteer service with several public agencies and nonprofits have prepared me to serve you on the Town Council.

I ask for your vote so I may serve as your representative on our Town Council. As your Councilmember, I will listen, share information, and take action. I’ll contribute to our continued economic vibrancy, emergency preparedness,  infrastructure, community connectedness, and balanced housing policies.

Thank You, Chantel Walker
